The 2007 Champions' start to the season has been sub-par, to say the least. The opening day homewin against Fredrikstad could just as well have resulted in 0 points while they were absolutely outplayed at Aalesund last week and suffered total humiliation. But the one thing that is still to the normal with them is the large number of goals in their games - 21 of their 26 games last season went over 2.5 (3.77 pr game) and with a 4:2 win and a 4:2 defeat in their first two this season, this trend looks set to continue.
Godset come here from a very good and fully deserved 3:2 win against Rosenborg. I thought there wasn't much to their attacking play but they proved me wrong by a good will to push forward and by being a constant threat to the RBK defence. They also created a few good chances away to Viking so there obviously is more to them than I thought. However, they tired at the end and lost concentration at the back so Rosenborg could pull back twice. This game shouldn't be any less of a tiring experience as Brann like to pass the ball around and are good at getting their opponents to chase them, so even if it is goalless for a long while, we can expect some at the end.
But I think the goals will come right from the start. Brann will really feel they have a point to prove and will be looking to put their visitors under attack from the 1st minute - quite possibly costing them one in the face. For their defence will stand high in the pitch, and Godset have a couple of pacey attackers able to outrun them and collect the long and accurate passes from Winsnes and Bergdølmo so I can see Godset through on a couple of occasions. But Brann could reach the over alone too, for they have last season's top scorer Helstad who scored a hat trick in the first game and he will get his chances today, when Brann build the pressure, and there are several other goalscorers in their team and they have so much to prove they surely won't stop attacking as soon as they move in front.
1.55 isn't so bad actually - some are even at 1.45 while the over 3.00 is only at around 1.70.
