AnalýzySNOOKER: Ding Junhui - Marco Fu
World Championship and one of the most intrigueing pairs in round one.
I don't like bookies' aproach for this game.Lets see the facts - Ding is currently 8th in the rankings,starting the year as #9.At the same time Fu managed 14 places up from 27th to #13.And more importantly - based on the performance for this season only,Fu is right behind the four undisputed best players in the world - O'Sullivan,Maguire,Murphy and Selby.Also -Fu already won a ranking event this year - the Grand Prix.Ok,Ding played well too,and especially some performances in the Premier League,but...well,he lost all matches against very strong opponents like for example Murphy and Higgins,and also in some matches against lower ranked opponents he was really lucky - just remember his win against Marcus Campbell in Wales.
And one more thing.These first round matches are played best of 19,and I am not at all convinced that Ding is that good in longer matches.He lacks experience - this is only his second appearance in Crucible and the first one was a disaster.At the same time you can still remember Fu's epic comeback in the semifinal against Peter Ebdon in the 2006 tournament,where he eventually lost the deciding 33rd frame.
I agree that Ding is a decent talant and an excellent breakbuilder,but to win in Crucible you need a stable performance,a specific approach and also - good tactics help a lot.Fu has all that and I am sure he knows how to make life difficult for the young chinese.
At odds around 2.10-2.20 I was going to be thinking whether to bet on this game or skip it,at odds offered I am going high stakes.GL!
