City will sensationally go top with a win tonight and will surely be all fired up and fancying their chances against a Palace side seemingly out of form. They're very good at home (10-4-2) and top the 10-game form table (6-3-1) and deserve all kinds of praise for what they - as a newly promoted team - have achieved but still, we should take them with a pinch of salt for deep down they are nothing else than a mediocre Championship side whose target for the season was to avoid relegation, and this becomes clear by looking behind their results as it reveals it is a mixture of promoter's enthusiasm, being at the right place at the right time, and things going their way even when their performances hadn't earned it which has brought them the larger share of their 57 pts, and seen as these things tend to even out in the long run I think we should expect a bit of a downfall in the coming weeks. Good indicators of their limitations are a quite a few heavy defeats against the better or the in-form teams of the division and the fact that they top the form table with a negative goal difference!
Palace have a good capacity, which they fully showed during their long-stretching undefeated run and though they've not been on top in recent games, this should turn any time now for there is a lot of skill and winning spirit in this side. Their last win was in fact in the opposite fixture against City (2:0) in a match I think the actual difference between these two was reflected in the result. The chance to hinder City from going top of the table will be just as motivating for them as going top will be for the hometeam and with Palace having something to prove and hungering the most for a win again, I think there are the most speaking in favour of them here. Scoring is a problem for them, but on the other hand, they hardly concede any (only 12 away from home all season) but I feel they will have what it takes to grind out the 1:0 win and find the odds quite good, especially as the draw means winning half. A braver try (which I personally choose over the +0.25 handicap) would be 1:0 and 0:0 correct scores, both available at around 9.0-10.0
