AnalýzyFUTBAL Nemecko: Dortmund - Stuttgart
Dortmund after a solid start is having some serious issues at the moment, struggling with their game and missing more and more players each week. Complete injury list is now filled with Zidan(fw), Kuba(mf), Owomoyela(df), Dede(df) and Hummels(df). More or less most of them are first team players with huge respective roles. Now Klopp is facing a real test of survival, he's a great character for the team, but definitely not the best tactic around. Luckily they won their cup tie against Bundesliga rivals Hertha, but it wasn't a pleasant game at all, still enormous mistakes defensively allowing teams to score some easy goals, leaving Dortmund gutted for the rest of the match evidently. Little reserves left for covering those spots, since even those who are still playing, like Subotic and Rukavina, cause serious threats for their own team and deservedly some of them might be even benched. While I don't rate Kovac's return highly effective, since his form is dead gone already and his career is going down rapidly, might be another destructive link at the center defense, where they had to even reinforce some of the defensive midfielders there. Not the best times for Dortmund most certainly.
On the other hand, Stuttgart is having a blast, winning lately their matches quite easily. Though their schedule was one of the best they could have, dealing with some out of form and overall weaker teams, still they are in more favorable situation and have less selection problems, missing out only Basturk(mf), Pardo(df) and most probably Delpierre(df). Not a big worry for coach Veh, who has successfully rotated with players and even managed to give some rest for key striker Gomez in midweeks cup game against Bielefeld, where they held it calmly till the end. I like the way Stuttgart plays at the moment, not too shabby and not too superior, but just at the right condition, well balanced and structured at all points. Sometimes it's irritating to watch those childish mistakes at the back, but they are improving and allowing less chances for their opponents, with Lehmann getting more confidence and control between the posts being an inspirational leader for the defenders and setting them to rightful places.
It's never easy playing in Westfalenstadion, home fans might might influence that sparkle in Dortmund, that fighting spirit that helped them (with a tad help from the linesman) to make a huge comeback in a derby against Schalke, but the team differs for today, the lack of self-confidence is just visible, and similar comeback is not likely to happen soon enough, definitely not against a touch opponent like Die Schwaben, which should bring at least a point without breaking too much sweat. Matches between these two teams have always brought surprises, this time the home fans might be in huge shock instead. Medium stakes.
